Croucher Scholarship in 1998

I am currently with the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. I obtained my DPhil degree in Engineering Science at the University of Oxford, UK and visited the Artificial Intelligent Laboratory, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA in 2001 as visiting scientist. My dissertation, entitled "Vessel and aneurysm reconstruction using speed and flow coherence information in phase contrast magnetic resonance angiograms", was awarded the British Machine Vision Association Sullivan Thesis Award for the best doctoral thesis in the field of computer vision and natural vision in 2002.

Current work

My research interest is medical imaging in particular analysis of brain images and computational reconstruction of blood vessels from angiograms. I am also interested in algorithmic development of image segmentation and registration methods.
